Art Journal Page Process, Prompt List #30

 Full Video Tutorial:

 Welcome!

Above is the prompt list tutorial video. The full prompt list can be found at the end of the video.
I encourage you to follow the prompts using your stash and see how the page turns out.

I have written the prompts for you to enjoy crafting without any expectations. Each of the lists that I write and follow, I have no plan in mind and I follow each step which makes crafting fun and care free. You can also use the same list multiple times and the outcome can be completely different.

Each of the prompt lists can be used for art journal pages, or if you prefer, you can create a canvas or tag with the steps. Whatever you feel like creating!

I hope you enjoy this weeks page.
If you create something that may have been inspired by the page/list, I would love to see your creation. Feel free to tag me on instagram with #SparklePrompts for any prompt list creations.

For this weeks page I began with adding a mosaic with paper I had in my stash. For the second step I used Nuvo paint in the colours Mushroom and Burnt Umber to print circles on to the page with the paint lids. I then used a marker pen to outline a few of the mosaic shapes.

I added small circles and triangles cut from cardstock and edged in Distress Ink Vintage Photo. Tea Dye Distress Ink Spray was then added in random patches over the page.

The next step was to add the focal image which was chosen from a 12x12 scrapbook page by 7 Gypsies and cut out to use. I added an Idea-ology Tim Holtz sticker as the title for the focal image reading "Cast of Characters".

I chose some ephemera from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology ephemera pack to add. I used Walnut Stain Distress Ink to edge then with a blending tool to stand out against the busy background.
To complete the page I used lace to add a border with Mod Podge and used the same method to frame the focal image.

Here is the full page spread, I hope you enjoyed this weeks prompt list.

This layout was started with an ombre in shades of brown acrylic paint. I then added cheesecloth dyed brown with distress ink spray. I used Vintage Photo distress ink to add shading around the cheesecloth.

I added text stamping with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink to the background.
The next step was to add the focal image which is a postcard I had acquired from a museum gift shop.
I then grounded the focal image using embossing powder and a stamp on coloured card.

I used the same method to add a title to my page, using Black Soot Distress Oxide ink to darken the blue card.
I added charms from my stash that fit well with the theme of the page with gel medium.
The finishing touch was to add a subtle border, for which I used Peacock Feather Distress Oxide ink once again, and a blending tool to apply it.

 Welcome!

To begin this weeks page I used acrylic paint in the colour Iris to produce a base. I then split the page into eight sections across the centre.
The first sections I filled in were doodle/zentangle based. I free handed the swirly pattern and traced it to add the same pattern to a second section.

I added a section of sky with blue paint and used the stippling effect to add clouds.
The next part was to add texture paste which I used gilding polish with a stencil in two different sections using the colours Ocean Teal and Indian Pink.

The tiger as the focal image was sourced from a napkin that I cut down to fit and added it with mod podge to seal to the page.
For the title I used silver pen to design the words "Whimsical Sky," and used white acrylic with a cotton bud to apply the stippling effect once again.

The section with the stars was created with the same blue base as the sections with the clouds, and I added a tissue paper and highlighted elements on this section with a white gel pen, including small swirls for interest.

To complete the page I used silver to add a small border and outlined each section. I also added a small amount of silver highlights on the focal image and the clouds to bring the page together.

To begin, I stuck down green tissue paper with mod podge and once dried used a cotton candy (blue) gelato to do a rubbing over the top of the creases. I then added a hessian mesh and used distress spray ink to drip Broken China over the pieces.

For interest I used an inch circle punch with coloured paper and added clear pearl drops (glossy accents could also be used), to cover them to look like bubbles.
I then used my scan n cut to cut sea horse silhouettes out of patterned paper.

For the focal image I used a seahorse I found in a colouring book and coloured it with felt tip pens. I then added glitter glue to the pink sections of the focal seahorse, the eyes of the background seahorses, and the bubbles to give them light windows.

To finish the page I used alphabet stickers on green sparkly card for my title, edging it with Mowed Lawn distress ink. I then used the same ink to give a subtle border to the layout.

To begin this weeks page, I began laying down thread, spreading modelling paste over the top, and removing the thread to give texture. Once that dried I then added distress ink sprays Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberries, Crushed Olive and Picket Fence for the background.

I added twine wound into circles which absorbed the distress ink, and added enamel dots in white around the circles and added smaller ones.

I then added four pieces of matching ephemera from a sticker set, added the same colours to some tulle material and added it to one piece of ephemera to transform it into the focal image.
I then added lace and the same liquid enamel dots to emphasize the lace border.

To finish the page I added a magazine clipping for the title and used white acrylic paint mixed with water to add splashes.

To begin this weeks page I used a script printed napkin for the background and then primed with a wash of mustard coloured paint. I then used a brayer wrapped in wool to add brown paint in patterns.

I added measuring tape washi tape, and then used a fabric to add sewing ephemera around the page.

The focal image is a die cut of a mannequin in sticky back felt. I added pearl drops and buttons to jazz it up.

The title I wrote out by hand and added pearl drops to give the effect of stitches. I did the same to add a border with black marker and pearl drops.

After priming my page I added gelatos to create a sunset horizon. I added a path and scenery either side for the rest of the landscape. The clouds added texture with lace with a slight sparkle of glitter glue to add interest.

I added some stamping onto the scene and chose this house stamp as my focal image, using grey scale marker pens to colour it, I added it to the page with mod podge.

For the finishing touches I added the title in embossing powder, using black sparkle and white mixed together to get this result. I then used a white gel pen to add some dots around the page.
