Art Journal Page Process, Prompt List #45

 Full Video Tutorial:

Welcome!

Above is the prompt list tutorial video. The full prompt list can be found at the end of the video.
I encourage you to follow the prompts using your stash and see how the page turns out.

I have written the prompts for you to enjoy crafting without any expectations. Each of the lists that I write and follow, I have no plan in mind and I follow each step which makes crafting fun and care free. You can also use the same list multiple times and the outcome can be completely different.

Each of the prompt lists can be used for art journal pages, or if you prefer, you can create a canvas or tag with the steps. Whatever you feel like creating!

I hope you enjoy this weeks page.
If you create something that may have been inspired by the page/list, I would love to see your creation. Feel free to tag me on instagram with #SparklePrompts for any prompt list creations.

To begin this page I tore envelopes up and stuck them on to the page folding some to add texture.
I then primed the page with white gesso and once dry I used a wipe to add a yellow gelato and acrylic paint in chocolate brown.

To add interest to the background I added recycled postage stamps and used travel themed stamps with Archival Ink in Coffee and Sepia.
For the focal image I added a stamp to a mini scrapbook paper, I used the same archival inks to stamp it and then distressed the edges of the image and used a blending tool to add brown ink to the distressed edges.

I used the same distress paper and ink method to add a border to the page. I then added a title using the same stamp set to add a sign. The title itself was added with a simple brown felt tip pen.
I again used the same papers and used a die cut to create small envelopes and added them to the page.
The final touch for the page was to add wax seal stamps to each of the envelopes added. I used stamps from a pyrography pen set (metal ends), to seal the wax in shapes.

Here is the full page spread, I hope you enjoyed this weeks prompt list.

To begin this page I started with a gradient in acrylic paint using a lagoon blue colour and a purple.
I then used baby blue paint and applied it using a dabbing effect with kitchen roll.
I then used the same baby blue paint to add splashes to the page.
To add interest to the background, I stamped images onto white tissue paper and added them to the page using mod podge.

For the focal image I chose a plague mask and top hat shape, I used a magazine image with that shape and added it to the page, outlining it in black and then white to help bring it forward.
I then added miniature nuts and bolts to the page using gel medium and added some metal cog pieces.

For the title I used the same method as the focal image, using the same image offcut for the background and the black and white to add the title. To finish the page I used black soot Distress Oxide ink with a blending tool to add a subtle border.

To begin this weeks page I used a brayer/paint roller to add paint in purple, blue and back.
I then used Cosmic Shimmer gilding Polish in Silver Dream to add swirls.
I used silver texture paste to add stencilling in the form of stars.

For more background interest, I added stamping in Jet Black Archival Ink of small fairies as you can see here. I then added the focal image which is an image on a napkin, I applied a light layer of white gesso beforehand to make sure the focal image was visible on the page.

I added white dots to the page with a white gel pen to create stars, sticking in with the theme.

For the title I added a quote from a William Shakespeare play, and outlined it with the same silver on used to write.
To complete the page I added white enamel dots as a border around the full page.

To begin this weeks page I cut up book pages and used them in the background. I then used a baby wipe to add a brown paint so that the pages were still visible.
The next step was to add stencilling for which I used two different brown Distress Inks with two different stencils, one wood texture and one crack texture.

I then used an embossing folder to add texture to a piece of card and used distress ink with a blending tool to highlight the texture.
For the focal image I added an envelope which contains the image you can see above and added some ink to make it more cohesive with the layout. I then added a title on the focal image envelope.

To finish the page I added a border of stitches with a stamp, and added more stamping of images that were cohesive with the focal image.

To begin this weeks page I used a brick wall stencil to add texture paste. I primed the page with white gesso and added Distress Ink spray to the background.
I used menu pieces to add interest to the background and used cosmic shimmer gilding polish in copper shine to bring out the texture.

For the focal images, I used embossing powder on acetate and heat set. I used a stamp to add a wing to one of the images in a different colour embossing powder, and used this same powder to create the title.
I stuck these parts on to the page with a washi tape.

For the final touches I used the same gilding polish to add a border to the page and watered it down to add splashes.
