Art Journal Page Process, Prompt List #32

 Full Video Tutorial:

Welcome!

Above is the prompt list tutorial video. The full prompt list can be found at the end of the video.
I encourage you to follow the prompts using your stash and see how the page turns out.

I have written the prompts for you to enjoy crafting without any expectations. Each of the lists that I write and follow, I have no plan in mind and I follow each step which makes crafting fun and care free. You can also use the same list multiple times and the outcome can be completely different.

Each of the prompt lists can be used for art journal pages, or if you prefer, you can create a canvas or tag with the steps. Whatever you feel like creating!

I hope you enjoy this weeks page.
If you create something that may have been inspired by the page/list, I would love to see your creation. Feel free to tag me on instagram with #SparklePrompts for any prompt list creations.

The background for this page starts with adding two shades of pink paint with towel material.
I then printed three different leaves in lush pink and black paints. The background is then finished with using iris pink paint with a wall texture stencil, defining parts with a pink fine liner.

For the focal image I used the scan n cut with black card to cut a tree image.
I added pink glitter glue on parts of the tree to add sparkle.
I then cut leaves again with the scan and cut and stuck them across the top of the page to have them dangling. I then added the same glitter to them.

I added a title with dies and black card to spell out "Wonderland."
To finish the page, I added small circles, again with black card, and edged them with the glitter glue.

Here is the full page spread, I hope you enjoyed this weeks prompt list.

You're My Kind of Weird. Polkadoodles Art Journal Page #3

Welcome!

Thank you for joining me today, this post is an art journal page created with Polkadoodles products so the ones I have used for this creation will be linked at the bottom of the post.
I hope you enjoy.

To begin this page I used patterned paper from the "Winnie White Christmas" paper pack as a base.
I used Bundled Sage Distress Ink to add a border and shadows for the focal images.

The beakers and glasses that can be found around the page were used from the bundle digital stamp Science/Maths/Teacher/Chemistry. I used watercolour paints to colour them, and for all the glasses lenses I used clear pearl drops to give them a shine.

For the title you can see here, it was part of the focal image digital file which is linked below, I used watercolour paint and dipped the title into it, then used the distress ink in Bundled Sage as before, to edge the title.

For the focal image boy and girl, I used the "You're Weird" digital stamp which included the two figure and title with a background. I decided to fussy cut the parts that I wanted to use and coloured the images with watercolour paints.

Here is the final result, I hope you enjoyed this mixed media tag. Please see below the links to each of the Polkadoodles products used on this page.
I will see you next time, where we will turn your creative spark, into a Creative Sparkle.

Thank you.

To begin this project I used Distress Inks with a blending tool to begin the background, and then stamped the flowers you can see in colorbox Deep Lagoon. I added leaf shapes, printing with acrylic paint on cardboard to create the effect.

I used Archival Ink in Jet Black to stamp the small fairies you can see amongst the background. For the focal image(s) I used larger fairy die cuts to sit on the leaf prints.

I used blue metallic pen to create magical wisps coming from the fairy hands and added pearl drops around them in pastel blue.
For the title I printed on to white card and used the same inks from the background to bring the page together.

The final step on this spread was to add glitter, I chose white and added a border, I added some sparkle to the title, and I also added the glitter to the larger fairies wings.

For this weeks page I began with adding a mosaic with paper I had in my stash. For the second step I used Nuvo paint in the colours Mushroom and Burnt Umber to print circles on to the page with the paint lids. I then used a marker pen to outline a few of the mosaic shapes.

I added small circles and triangles cut from cardstock and edged in Distress Ink Vintage Photo. Tea Dye Distress Ink Spray was then added in random patches over the page.

The next step was to add the focal image which was chosen from a 12x12 scrapbook page by 7 Gypsies and cut out to use. I added an Idea-ology Tim Holtz sticker as the title for the focal image reading "Cast of Characters".

I chose some ephemera from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology ephemera pack to add. I used Walnut Stain Distress Ink to edge then with a blending tool to stand out against the busy background.
To complete the page I used lace to add a border with Mod Podge and used the same method to frame the focal image.

This layout was started with an ombre in shades of brown acrylic paint. I then added cheesecloth dyed brown with distress ink spray. I used Vintage Photo distress ink to add shading around the cheesecloth.

I added text stamping with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink to the background.
The next step was to add the focal image which is a postcard I had acquired from a museum gift shop.
I then grounded the focal image using embossing powder and a stamp on coloured card.

I used the same method to add a title to my page, using Black Soot Distress Oxide ink to darken the blue card.
I added charms from my stash that fit well with the theme of the page with gel medium.
The finishing touch was to add a subtle border, for which I used Peacock Feather Distress Oxide ink once again, and a blending tool to apply it.

Art Journal Page Process, Prompt List #28

To begin this weeks page I used acrylic paint in the colour Iris to produce a base. I then split the page into eight sections across the centre.
The first sections I filled in were doodle/zentangle based. I free handed the swirly pattern and traced it to add the same pattern to a second section.

I added a section of sky with blue paint and used the stippling effect to add clouds.
The next part was to add texture paste which I used gilding polish with a stencil in two different sections using the colours Ocean Teal and Indian Pink.

The tiger as the focal image was sourced from a napkin that I cut down to fit and added it with mod podge to seal to the page.
For the title I used silver pen to design the words "Whimsical Sky," and used white acrylic with a cotton bud to apply the stippling effect once again.

The section with the stars was created with the same blue base as the sections with the clouds, and I added a tissue paper and highlighted elements on this section with a white gel pen, including small swirls for interest.

To complete the page I used silver to add a small border and outlined each section. I also added a small amount of silver highlights on the focal image and the clouds to bring the page together.
